Mionetto Milk Mimosa
Alexi Vincent Ladéroute's Cocktail Recipe:
1 oz candy popcorn milk stock*
1 oz Amaro Montenegro
1 oz lemon juice
3 oz Mionetto Prosecco
Chocolate orange bar, melted, and painted onto inside of glass
Shake all ingredients except Mionetto briefly over ice and strain into prepared glass. Top with Mionetto and garnish with grated chocolate orange.
*to prepare the milk stock, heat 300ml of sweetened condensed milk over medium heat with 1 roughly chopped peach, 1/4 cup candy corn, 2 cups popcorn and 300ml water until boiling, let cool, and strain.
What inspired the drink?
The 3 mystery ingredients together inspired me to make a cocktail based on one of my favourite ways to enjoy Mionetto: watching a good movie with my partner and a big bowl of popcorn! There is honestly no better way to have a glass of wine that comes from passion and a place so loved-fillled as Italy. The combination of creamy milk stock and bubbles is intriguing, refreshing, and beautifully light orange thanks to the colorants in the candy. A smooth entrance if delicately balanced by tart lemon and bitersweet amaro, highlighting the toasted notes of the wine and the popcorn harmoniously.
