Marc's recette de cocktail

0.75 oz Havana Club 3yrs Rum
0.75 oz Strawberry and Pineapple Cordial
0.5 oz Lime Juice
2 oz Mionetto Prosecco
Garnished with a Coconut Paint

Recipe:
Garnish your champagne flute with coconut paint. Chill your glass in the fridge while you build the cocktail. Add all ingredients except the Mionetto to a shaker tin with ice and shake briefly. Finally, strain into the champagne flute and finish it off with the Mionetto Prosecco.

Coconut Paint:
1 can of Organic coconut milk
500 g of Sugar
2 tsp of cornstarch
-Cook the milk until it’s fully liquid (i.e., not thick)
-Add the sugar and cornstarch
-Stir continuously with a bar spoon to verify the texture and flash chill
-To check if the paint is ready, take the bar spoon vertically to test the viscosity and ensure that it doesn’t drip. If so, you have your final product.

Cordial:
400g of Freshly cut strawberries
300g of Freshly cut pineapple
400g of Sugar
400g of Water
-Place the sugar and water to a small pot at a medium temperature until fully dissolved, ensure to cook but not boil the sugar
-Add the fruits and reduce to simmer for approximately 30 minutes
-Fine strain and let the cordial cool down
-Refrigerate and can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks

Qu'est-ce qui a inspiré la boisson?

I was inspired for my cocktail creation by taking traditional recipes and modernizing it in a fun, retro-inspired take to showcase the Mionetto Prosecco. Recently, I’ve been watching a TV show called Miami Vice (1984) and is announced to be re-created at a later date. Authentic to the 1980s – it’s about two undercover detectives in Miami, FL fighting crime and was inspired to create a summer cocktail as a tribute to the TV show. Mionetto as a brand has always been modern and placed an emphasis on innovation to create great, quality wine. Through innovation, the brand has welcomed contemporary fashions and trends while keeping true to its traditions. Similarly, I wanted to represent these concepts with my cocktail. Taking a twist on two cocktails (the technique of the French 75 as well as the flavours of the Miami Vice cocktail to incorporate tasting notes of strawberries and pineapple), while highlighting the delicate notes of this wonderful Mionetto Prosecco.
