What inspired the drink?

I was inspired by the association of bubbles and romance, hence the name 'Amore Mio' or "my love" in Italian. This is a summer sip, meant to be enjoyed with a loved one. This cocktail is slightly bitter, floral, and incorporates traditional Italian ingredients and Mionetto prosecco. I used Amaro Nonino as it is produced in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the neighboring region to Veneto, where Mionetto is produced. I used blood orange to create a syrup because I associate blood oranges with Sicily & summer. They also impart a beautiful blush colour. I used rhubarb because it is in season & the tart spice compliments the warmth of the herbs used in AmaroNonino. Orange blossom for a soft perfume note. Italian citrus soda for sweetness and effervescence without overwhelming the subtle apple & licorice notes of the prosecco. Garnished with a lemon peel rose & fresh basil to add highlight the citrus and herbal nose of the prosecco. I aim to create a drink that is as vibrant and classic as Mionetto
