Neal's Cocktail Recipe

1 tbsp orange blossom water
1/3 cup cane sugar
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup cream
1/2 cup Mionetto Prosecco
3/4 cup freshly pressed orange juice
Peel of one orange

Using a peeler, peel one large orange. This will reduce the amount of pith you have on your peels. In a small pot, combine the sugar, water, and orange peel. Bring it to a simmer. Once simmering, reduce the heat and stir to dissolve the sugar. After the sugar has dissolved, muddle the orange peels to extract their oils. Remove from heat and place in the fridge for one hour. This will allow additional time for the syrup to extract oils from the peel.

In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine the cream, orange juice, Mionetto Prosecco, orange blossom water, and orange syrup. Add the syrup in last, straining out the orange peels. Press the orange peels to extract as much of the syrup as possible.

Mix all ingredients to make sure they are combined. Pour all the ingredients into an ice cream maker. Turn on the ice cream maker. It will take approximately 25-30 minutes for your mixture to become sherbet. Transfer the sherbet into a separate container and freeze. Ideally, the sherbet should be left in the freezer for at least two hours before serving.

Grab your sherbet out of the freezer and let it sit for a few minutes. While you wait, fill a rocks glass half full with ice. Pour in Mionetto Prosecco until the ice is covered. Place a scope of the sherbet on top of the ice. Wedge a thinly sliced orange peel between the ice and rocks glass. Garnish with mint and dessert spoon. You are now ready to enjoy your Mionetto Float!

What inspired the drink?

When I think of Prosecco, I think of a classic: the mimosa. This drink was inspired by the mimosa, a pretty, crushable, and simple drink. However, it is summertime and we all want to head out and enjoy the patio! The Mionetto Float is a little more complex with the addition of orange blossom water, and sure to impress your cohort during your stay-vacation!
