Jennifer's Cocktail Recipe

A simple twist on a mimosa that will be the highlight of any brunch. To start, I made a simple puree using Physalis berries (aka Golden Gooseberries) and the juice from half a lime. The Physalis berries are a tart yet tangy fruit found in Peru with a tropical flavour profile. In my champagne flute, I added an ounce of the puree, an orange slice and topped the rest up with Mionetto Prosecco. Garnished with some whole Golden Gooseberries and twig of Rosemary. Simple, yet delicious!

What inspired the drink?

The orange of Mionetto's label had me thinking outside the box for an orange coloured fruit, but not an orange itself. Gooseberries are one of my favourite when they are in season so thought this would be a fun way to incorporate something orange and unique to my cocktail. I prefer a cocktail that is tart and savoury (over sweet), but also simple to make. The result was my Minoetto Golden Goose Mimosa
