Emma's Cocktail Recipe

3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
2 oz Grapefruit Juice
1 oz Sheringham Kazuki Gin
1/2 oz Honey basil syrup
Fresh sprig of basil
Mionetto Prosecco to top of with

Combine all ingredients besides Mionetto into a shaker with ice and shake for 10 seconds. This always everything to properly combine and for the basil sprig to lightly bruise so it tightens the flavour of the honey syrup. Strain neat into a Collins or taller cocktail glass then top with chilled Mionetto Prosecco. Finish off with a fresh slice of grapefruit and a sprig of basil!

What inspired the drink?

I was inspired by the idea of Mionetto being this classic Italian staple. It's a prosecco that you can have during brunch with your family or during the most important celebrations of your life. For myself it reminds me of classic Italian flavours like bitter grapefruit sodas and amazing herbs like basil and I wanted to play into that. But with that being said the prosecco itself has these amazing aromas of honey, golden apple, and white peach so I wanted to craft a cocktail that would highlight those aspects.
