Charlotte's Cocktail Recipe

Add 0.5 oz of Pimm’s No. 1, a gin-based aperitif, 1 oz of freshly squeezed orange juice, 0.5 oz of homemade peach simple syrup*, 1 tsp of ginger syrup, and 2 tsp of freshly juiced lemon juice to a shaker with ice. Shake for approximately 10 seconds, and strain into a coupe glass. Top with Mionetto Prosecco and garnish with an orange wheel.

*Peach simple syrup recipe: 6 g of peach tea, 0.5 cup of hot water & 0.5 cup of sugar. Combine, let sit for 45 minutes, strain and keep refrigerated.

What inspired the drink?

This cocktail incorporates all of my favourite flavours, especially when I'm thinking of summer. Gin is my alcohol of choice, especially in the summer. In order to incorporate gin but not overpower the Mionetto, I used Pimm's No. 1, a gin-based aperitif. Fresh orange juice is a must in the summertime - so delicious and refreshing! A staple in my fridge, especially in the warmer months is peach iced tea so I added a homemade peach simple syrup to the cocktail to add that light but a fruitful flavour that also pairs well with the Mionetto prosecco. One of my all-time favourite flavours is ginger, and it really adds a touch of subtle spice to this cocktail. To round out all the sweet flavours, lemon juice was added. Finally, it's topped with the Mionetto prosecco, enhanced by all my favourite flavours and garnished with an orange wheel. Cheers to a Seaside Sunshine!
